Moissanite has a higher refractive index and greater dispersion (fire/rainbow) than diamonds. In addition, moissanite exhibits double refraction – a property that diamonds do not possess. In combination with the higher dispersion, more intense light reflections, visible color flashes, and a more lively sparkle are created.
