Moissanite was first discovered in 1893 by French chemist Henri Moissan in the "Canyon Diablo" meteorite crater in Arizona – a gemstone that literally came from the stars.
However, the Moissanite crystals found there were tiny and not suitable for jewelry. This is why Moissanite is now produced in laboratories.

The stronger refraction ensures that light is refracted more intensely within the moissanite, allowing it to hit the stone's facets more effectively.
