Moissanite was first discovered in 1893 by French chemist Henri Moissan in the "Canyon Diablo" meteorite crater in Arizona – a gemstone that literally came from the stars.
However, the Moissanite crystals found there were tiny and not suitable for jewelry. This is why Moissanite is now produced in laboratories.
This creates Moissanite jewelry that sparkles more than diamond jewelry. Additionally, Moissanite is almost as hard as a diamond and very scratch-resistant. Moissanite jewelry lasts a lifetime and retains its sparkle permanently.

While diamonds do not exhibit double refraction, a moissanite splits the incoming light within the stone into two rays. The stronger dispersion further divides the light into its individual colorful components. The stronger refraction ensures that light is refracted more intensely within the moissanite, allowing it to hit the stone's facets more effectively.
Additionally, thanks to its diamond-like hardness, moissanite is very scratch-resistant and perfect for everyday wear. Thus, moissanite jewelry sparkles more intensely than diamond jewelry and retains its sparkle permanently without discoloring.
